Executive Director
Rabbi Lisa has been the Executive Director of Hillel of San Diego for almost twelve years. Originally from a small town near Pasadena, she studied history at Brown University and then went on to Rabbinical School, where she also earned a Masters in Jewish Education. She has lived in five cities across the United States and has also spent significant time in Germany and Israel. She tries to travel abroad at least twice a year, sometimes with students and sometimes on her own. She also loves hiking, reading and great conversations (preferably over coffee).
SDSU Director
Jackie, Director of Hillel at SDSU, was born in Washington, D.C. but San Diego is definitely her home now, having lived here longer than she lived in her own hometown. A graduate of the University of Maryland, she majored in Education and was a public school teacher before finding her passion for working on campus. She loves her job because she helps young Jewish adults connect to their Judaism, works with terrific students and staff to create a welcoming Jewish community at SDSU, and can have coffee with students and talk about life, the world and everything in between! She loves hanging out with her family and friends, cheering enthusiastically for the San Diego Padres, reading fiction and non-fiction (loved all 7 Harry Potters, The Tipping Point, The Kite Runner etc.), snorkeling on vacation, listening to music and just enjoying life.
Development Director
Lori, a native San Diegan, remembers San Diego when Mission Valley was corn fields rather than shopping centers! Prior to joining Hillel as the Development Director, she was an active volunteer in the San Diego Jewish Community and most recently the Campaign Chair for UJF Womens' Division. Before that, her career of close to 20 years was in apparel manufacturing where she was the Vice President of Private Label for The Weekend Exercise Co. In her free time she reads, does Sudoku, plays bridge, loves to cook and looks for new donors!!!
UCSD Assistant DirectorOriginally from Boston, Keri is a UCSD Alumna and the Assistant Director at UCSD Hillel. She has been with Hillel of San Diego for over six years, and loves working with the various student leaders on campus to create a wide range of programs. She received her Masters in Non Profit Management at USD. When she's not working, she loves to travel, scrapbook and spend time with her husband Shaun and her cat Archie.

Office Manager at UCSD
A California Native, literally, Rachel Gonzalez grew up in Escondido/San Marcos, and became a true San Diego resident 5 years ago. Rachel joined the Hillel staff as the Office Administrator about a year ago. She takes care of all the office needs and has enjoyed making new friends with the Hillel staff. Rachel attended Palomar College and the Art Institute of Southern California, majoring in Illustration with a minor in Graphic Design. Keep an eye out for the great new Hillel brochures she is designing. Her interests are very much in the arts, as she has just finished illustrating her first children's book Dance of the Spirits, which will be published this year.
Office Manager at SDSUYvonne Lawrence has been the office manager for Hillel of San Diego for over 13 years. She enjoys her job and finds it to be very rewarding, especially when she has a lasting impact on students' lives. JCSC Fellow at UCSD
Born and bred in the cozy confines of the Northeast, Gabe grew up in Rochester, New York, or what he likens "the Real New York". Having just graduated from the University of Virginia, he's excited to explore California, as this is his first time setting foot in the state. Gabe loves downhill skiing and the outdoors, carrot cake, college basketball, and sweet road trips. Look him up - he's eager to meet you, but watch out for his South African salutations.
